Dr. Marjorie Baptiste has extensive experience in placing implants and treating gum diseases through a Holistic approach. She is comfortable taking a case that is complex or not seen in any textbook. Her global experience in organizing dental mission trips abroad allowed her to be exposed to complex surgical cases and treat patients affected with complex types of periodontal disease.

Up to today, she has performed over 1,000 + gum surgeries, 40 + The Chao Pinhole Surgical Techniques, and 200 + dental implants including single and full mouth implants. She has a passion for helping people recover their oral health as well as overall health and as a result, their confidence and quality of life. She is well known among her patients and referring dentists for her gifted surgical skills such as “pink gums” or “saving a tooth”.
Specialize in Ceramic Implants. Dr. Baptiste is one of the few Periodontists in New York who places ceramic implants . With the Zinkolith implant system, she is able to deliver superior results to patients who are sensitive to metal-titanium implants and for cosmetic reasons prefer no metal abutment showing between the crown and the gum line.
Experience in Platelet Rich Fibrin treatment to restore bone loss. Dr. Baptiste attended the PRF seminar in France introduced by Dr. Choukroun. Her PRF cases have been remarkably successful: Patient had a pocket depth of 12 mm. After performing the treatment of PRF and autogenous bone graft, patient’s pocket was reduced to 2mm. The bone was able to heal faster than any other bone graft procedures.
Certified in Sedation. Dr. Baptiste is certified in Parenteral Moderate Conscious Sedation from the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry. Sedation dentistry uses medication to help patients relax and may take away their anxiety and pain during any dental procedures from surgery to a simple tooth cleaning.
Credentials
Dr. Baptiste has earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D) at Tufts University in Boston. During her studies, she was honored with receiving the Northeastern Society of Periodontists Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Periodontics, the Colgate Palmolive Scholarship, and the Dean’s Grant. In 2011, she completed her three-year specialty training in Periodontology at Tufts which allowed her to expand her career in implants and gum surgery. Since then, Dr. Baptiste became a leader in performing complex cases in these two areas. She has served as a guest lecturer at the Yankee Dental Convention in Boston and was selected as the guest speaker for the Boston Periodontics Residents meeting held at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She introduced her innovative research on periodontal plastic surgery in the lingual aspect of the mandibular anterior dentition. She is an expert in sinus lift.
leadership Experience
From 2012 to 2015, Dr. Baptiste was the Director of the Advanced Program in Periodontics at Lutheran Medical Center in New York City. She was responsible for designing a specialty-training program which provides an advanced level of education, clinical experience, and surgical implantology to a group of highly qualified graduate dentists who are interested in a specialty career in periodontology. She incorporated a program focusing on literature review and preparing residents for the American Board of Periodontology exams. She was the first Director to restructure the Periodontics department into an accredited program.
In 2015, Dr. Baptiste appeared in an educational video “Straight out of Pre-Dental”. She was invited by New York University chief resident of the pre-dental club to conduct a suturing training workshop for more than 40 pre-dental students. These Students learned about various techniques and incision designs. The training provided them with the practical experience and confidence to develop their surgical skills.
Dr. Baptiste is not only a leader in the classroom and private practice but also the founder of a dental surgical clinic in Haiti, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization named Suzanne and Leon O. Baptiste Foundation which provides dental healthcare and education to the undeserved population in Jacmel, Haiti. The non-profit is responsible for many other philanthropic endeavors such as the organized mission trips with Tufts faculty members and dental students in 2007 and 2009.

Personal
Dr. Baptiste love to give back to her community by volunteering her time to embark in dental mission trip abroad to serve the undeserved community affected with periodontal disease. When she is not volunteering, she enjoys hiking and traveling.
